Shopping & Leisure Time

There are many things to do in Solihull, The Ramada Solihull Hotel is just across the road from the picturesque Malvern & Brueton Parks and Nature Reserve spanning almost 130 acres and, boasting mature woodland, ornamental gardens & lake, walking trails, childrens playground, visitor centre & picnic areas.

The Historic St Alphege Church which dates back to the 12th Century is directly opposite the hotel, The building is a fine medieval Grade I listed church and many people come into this beautiful building during the daytime to pray or sit quietly or perhaps light a candle in the calm atmosphere.

Solihull is also home to Blue Ice Solihull Rink, the only indoor skating rink in the Solihull & Birmingham area, perfect for Birthday Parties & Skating Lessons.

There is also a nine screen cinema complex in Touchwood Shopping Centre and Solihull Arts Complex which is a multi-purpose arts venue in the heart of Solihull which plays host to a varied mix of professional and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance. Mel Square Shopping Centre is located in the heart of Solihull, offering a wide range of high street retailers and an array of independant boutiques.

Rocky Horror Ressurected - Following the tragic accident on stage last month in Bristol, producer Adrian Beaumont is bringing the Rocky Horror Show back! The company will be holding public auditions to see who will be going forward to the TV show ‘Rocky Resurrected’ to find the new Frank-N-Furter, Janet and a whole new chorus. The winners will the go on to do a nationwide tour before heading to London's West End! So come along and join the cast and crew. If you wish, dress up, make-up and practice those ‘pelvic thrusts’. But be careful – show business can be a deadly game.

A Dickens of a Christmas - Lord Hockton, the benefactor of the Eastgate Avenue Workhouse, has thrown this party for the workhouse inmates. He has also invited you, so you can join in with their celebrations. It is most unusual for a Workhouse to throw any sort of party for their inmates, it is normally a very harsh environment But why are some of the inmates of the Eastgate Workhouse disappearing - Never to be seen again? And what is the real reason behind Lord Hockton's generosity?

Motorcycle Museum

Solihull commemorates the Motorcycle and its history at this Museum. Widely regarded as the finest and largest motorcycle museum in the world and holding a variety of classic and contemporary models, it is a fitting tribute and celebration of the humble ‘Chopper’, study the development of the motorcycle from its earlier days to the golden years of the 1930s-60s, when British motorcycles ruled the world.

Drayton Manor Theme Park

Just a short drive away is Drayton Manor Theme Park, home to some of the biggest wettest and scariest rides around.
