There are many things to do in Solihull, as instance, visit Historic Warwick Castle and the birthplace of William Shakespeare Stratford-upon-Avon whilst staying at the hotel, both are just a short drive away.

The Ramada Hotel Birmingham is also just across the road from the picturesque Malvern & Brueton Parks and Nature Reserve.

The Historic St Alphege Church which dates back to the 12th Century is directly opposite the hotel, The building is a fine medieval Grade I listed church and many people come into this beautiful building during the daytime to pray or sit quietly or perhaps light a candle in the calm atmosphere.

Solihull is also home to Blue Ice Solihull Rink, the only indoor skating rink in the Solihull & Birmingham area, perfect for Birthday Parties & Skating Lessons.

There is also a nine screen cinema complex in Touchwood Shopping Centre and Solihull Arts Complex which is a multi-purpose arts venue in the heart of Solihull which plays host to a varied mix of professional and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance

The Solihull Jazz Festival, now in its third year, returns for the weekend of 24th and 25th May with more than than 23 performances already scheduled by the likes of Ricky Cool and the In Crowd, Tipitina, the Jiveoholics, Bostin’ Brass and Becky Brine.

Fast becoming an established date on the UK jazz festival circuit, the town centre will be jumping and jiving once again with the infectious, foot-tapping beats of some of the most talented jazz performers on the UK stage. The annual Mardi Gras parade through central Solihull is also set to return, at lunchtime on Saturday 24th, and will be even bigger than last year - filling the town centre with the colours, sights and sounds of a New Orleans-style carnival.

This year, more venues are hosting performances than ever before; with eight different venues across the town including on the two outdoor stages in Mell Square and Jubilee Gardens. Other acts scheduled to appear include the always-brilliant Roy Forbes Quartet, a festival favourite; Al Jolson’s Dog; Alligator Gumbo; The Jake Leg Jug Band; The Broombusters; Millennium Eagle Jazz Band; The Indigo Kings and Florence Joelle.

There will be family fun and entertainment across the weekend, including the annual parade - which will feature more than 100 performers, children’s characters and live bands handing out treats for the young-of-age and the young-of-heart alike!`

Rocky Horror Ressurected - Following the tragic accident on stage last month in Bristol, producer Adrian Beaumont is bringing the Rocky Horror Show back! The company will be holding public auditions to see who will be going forward to the TV show ‘Rocky Resurrected’ to find the new Frank-N-Furter, Janet and a whole new chorus. The winners will the go on to do a nationwide tour before heading to London's West End! So come along and join the cast and crew. If you wish, dress up, make-up and practice those ‘pelvic thrusts’. But be careful – show business can be a deadly game.

A Dickens of a Christmas - Lord Hockton, the benefactor of the Eastgate Avenue Workhouse, has thrown this party for the workhouse inmates. He has also invited you, so you can join in with their celebrations. It is most unusual for a Workhouse to throw any sort of party for their inmates, it is normally a very harsh environment But why are some of the inmates of the Eastgate Workhouse disappearing - Never to be seen again? And what is the real reason behind Lord Hockton's generosity?

Drayton Manor Theme Park
